Short description

Tokyo Attic is a cozy antique-shop game for iPhone. Help Gen‑san, 72, reopen the little shop he ran with his late wife Fumi in Yanaka, Tokyo: send the neighborhood kids to flea markets, catalog what they find, haggle with customers and bring Fumi's lost collection home.

Long description

For forty years, Gen Takaoka, a retired watchmaker, and his wife Fumi ran Takaoka, a tiny antique shop in a back alley of Yanaka, Tokyo. When Fumi passed away, Gen pulled the shutter down. Ten years later, he raises it again.

His knees are done with flea markets, so the neighborhood kids go for him. Send them across Tokyo, from the local alley to the boutiques of Ginza, and see what they bring back: retro cartridges, figures, tea caddies, katanas. Every find goes into Fumi's book, 60 objects in 10 sets, each one a silhouette until it walks through the door.

Haggle with the customers who drop by, dust off and decorate the shop and grow it through four tiers. Pet Mochi, the shop cat, who leaves little gifts when she is well fed. Open a free gachapon capsule every day, fuse pieces in the workshop and recover the pages of Fumi's ledger, each with one of her rules.

And then there is the safe Fumi never let him open. Grow the shop and, one day, it will open. Somewhere across Tokyo are the twenty pieces of Fumi's Collection, the things she sold, lent or lost over the years. Bring them home.
